I’m not sure what is wrong with your contacts and calendar, but make sure that they are checked to sync in the Information tab of the iTouch and iTunes. You can get some apps from here (http://iphoneappsmanager.com/) and also from the apple site (www.apple.com/webapps). They both list some good ones but the (http://iphoneappsmanager.com/) is meant to be viewed from your iTouch and the apple site is meant to be viewed on the computer and then links to the apps.
