Sudoku Beginner Level

sudoku beginner level

When you know the numbers from 1 to 9 you can play Sudoku. In the simplest of versions, these 9 boxes each containing 9 boxes are easy to solve – and might only take a few minutes. These are often found in newspapers and magazines. At the other end some of the more difficult Sudokus could take hours to solve. In the beginning, I found this game somewhat uninteresting. But once I tried to solve one of these I found them highly fascinating.

The Rules in Sudoku

If you haven’t played Sudoku I will quickly introduce you to the principle. You need to enter the numbers 1-9 in each of the nine boxes in the 81 box matrix. Each Sudoku 1-9 element is itself a part of nine boxes – 3 wide and 3 in height. You may not have the same number in the same horizontal or vertical row and only once in each system.

Fascination For the Game

West Europeans have taken Sudoku to heart. I think it has quite a bit to do with crossword puzzles being too difficult for many. Rather than making the extra effort, many have given up. So in that way Sudoku was a renewal of modern puzzles. A mind game for all the people – and a game that can be adapted to all levels of Sudoku mastership.

Sudoku has sold like nothing else. Nowadays, they aren’t just found in newspapers or magazines. You can even buy little game computers with many levels included. So now you don’t even need a pen to solve your Sudokus. In these little electronic games you can also get little hints which may be helpful if you have chosen a level that might have been a bit too difficult.

Sudoku has also been created in a computer-nerd version where you have sixteen nunbers per box. In such a hexadecimal system number 1-9 are still used, but A corresponds to 10, B to 11 all the way up to G being 16. You have to be a professional computer user to have been introduced to hexadecimal use of numbers. It is mostly used in very technical programming.

Suffice it to say that Sudoku has grabbed all levels of society, and you can really get quite a bit of enjoyment when you try this mind game. In the beginning I would suggest buying a Beginner book and perhaps also Intermediary. In that way the rest of your family can use the Beginner level if you need to move straight to Intermediary. Advanced is, as I have written, for the very experienced. Have fun with Sudoku.
